It was amazing to be back in San Diego for a couple of days to celebrate the life of Lori. She meant so much to my family while my dad was stationed there from 1982-1996. I firmly believe that God placed her in our lives as a "spiritual glue" and prayer warrior to protect us from the numerous attacks we were under while there. When I was 8 years old, "Grandma Lori" took me aside during vacation bible school and led me to the lord. I don't have many memories from that age, but that is one that I will never forget. What an amazing woman of God! After leaving services yesterday, I had this incredible feeling of gratefulness, that the lord allowed our paths to cross, at a time when we needed it most. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and will truly be missed. -Zachary Pool

We were truly blessed to have Lory as a neighbor. To tell you what she meant to us…where do I start? If you moved on to our street, Lory was probably the first one to greet you, with a plate of cookies in hand. If the widow neighbor next door got sick, it was mostly Lory who took her to the emergency room and sat there for hours until doctors diagnosed the problem and either sent her back home or admitted her to the hospital. When Christmas and Easter came around you could count on Lory to show up with special home-made treats. If you went on vacation, she was there to take care of your pet. She just seemed always to be giving. She was kind to all of God's creatures and would always put out food and water for the local critters. For these and so many other reasons, Lory will truly be missed around here. Priscilla and Mark Whitbeck

Please accept the heartfelt condolences of the Irene Hester (mother of Donna De Marino) family: Carol and Richard Schweitzer, Beverly and Dan Brewer, Shelly and Kelly Early. We met Tom and Lory in 2000 when we were traveling the California coastline beginning in San Diego. We spent a delightful lunchtime with Tom and Lory at the Hotel Del Coronado. They were so gracious and treated us all to our lunch that day. I will remember that pleasant time until we meet again in the resurrection.
