Lynette Geraldine Allison
“A Life of Service”
Lynette Geraldine Allison lovingly nicknamed “Nette & Sweetie” was born Saturday, June 19, 1954, in New Orleans Louisiana. She was the third of 16 children blessed to the late Percy Lee Perry and Warrine Johnson Perry. The family lived on Homer Street in a quiet West Bank neighborhood. Lynette attended McDonough 32 Elementary, L.B. Landry Junior High, and L.B. Landry High School. At the age of Twelve, Lynette accepted Christ and was Baptized by Pastor Clarence Riley at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church of Algiers. As a young child, Lynette was a very conscientious willing worker at home and in the church using her many spiritual gifts.
During Lynette’s high school years, she loved modern dance and was involved in many activities. Lynette’s high school years were among her favorites, where she developed so many friends, which became lifelong friendships. She graduated from L.B. Landry in June of 1972.
Lynette entered the US Navy on January 26, 1973. She thrived in the military and received many achievement medals, awards, and commendations for her exceptional work ethic. Lynette traveled the world and took full advantage of every station and port she worked or visited. She loved to shop and collected fine dinnerware, vases, and souvenirs from Germany and the Orient. Lynette enjoyed her time and developed many relationships in the US Navy and rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before her retirement in February of 1999.
Lynette met the love of her life, David C. Allison in San Diego CA on January 25, 1985, while attending school at the Naval Training Center, they were united in holy matrimony on August 20, 1985, in Panama City, Panama. Due to both of their responsibilities in their respective locations, they maintained a distant relationship for a few years, but their love for one another stood the test of time. They finally united in San Diego CA and from there moved to Everett WA.
Lynette joined The Greater Trinity Church in Everett WA., under the direction of Dr. Paul A. Stoot Sr. She was very active in Sunday School, Choir, Pastor Aide, and other ministries. She later joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle
WA., under the direction of Rev. Dr. Robert L. Manaway Sr. where she continued her commitment to service and worship. She served on the church anniversary and hospitality committees and other ministries.
Lynette’s love, goodwill, and generosity toward children led to her passionate work in foster care. Lynette began her career in management for Baker Street Ministries, Pastor Edwin Woodley, Director, and worked as a liaison between Washington State Social Service and Baker St. Min. She was so affected by the great need for children’s placement that she became a foster mom. Working with her good friend Yvonne Huber-Ito, Director of LKI Family Services Lynette placed over twenty children in her home. She was a dedicated loving foster mom and gained a following of social workers who wanted their children placed in her care.
In addition to a life of service at church and the children she cherished, Lynette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a master chef and specialize in Southern New Orleans cuisine and enjoyed creating at home and for church events. She loved fashion and style and could spend her days shopping the boutiques and department stores wherever she was at the time. Lynette also enjoyed traveling and had the pleasure of visiting throughout the U.S., South America, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Australia, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, and Hawaii.
Lynette was an enduring friend, her loving spirit transcended the years that she was here on earth. She gave to those around her often placing their needs before her own. Lynette Geraldine Allison remained faithful until she departed this life on March 13, 2023.
Lynette’s son Cornell “Danny” Johnson II, mother and father, Warrine & Percy Lee Perry, sisters, Patricia Smith, Jeannie Perry, Angela F. Allison, brothers, Tommie Lee & Patrick H. Perry, Gregory L. & Nathaniel G, Allison, and Nieces, Kimberly Anderson Chavis & Patrice Gonzalez preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, David C. Allison, daughters, Tiecha Keiffer, Devonnye J. Allison, Britney L. Hardin, son, Stephen M. Allison, grandchildren, Ebria D. Keiffer II, Ja’wan C. Kieffer, Ebriana Keiffer, Jaleyah M. Johnson, Nehemia M Hardin, Mariyah N. Jean’Pierre & Noah A. Hardin, sisters, Marlene P. Littleton, Pamela Anderson, Lisa M. Rush, Stacy L. Perry, Patricia D. Pinkard, Yolande D Allison, brothers, Marvin R., James D., David, Mark A., Timothy P., Neil W. &
Clayton R. Perry, James C. & Virgil E. Allison, sister in laws, Jacqueline, Sandra, Charmaine, Glenda, Patricia, Gail, Mary and Maria, brother in laws, Bishop W.L.T., Terence, sister/caregiver, Cecily L. Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and lifelong friends.
