Micheal Joe Grubelnik's Obituary
Micheal Grubelnik, (Boats) passed away on February 28th, 2025. He was a loving father, husband, son and brother. Mike was born in Pueblo, CO on Sept. 5th, 1980 to Frank and Natalie Grubelnik. He was raised in Aguilar, CO. Mike graduated from Aguilar Jr/Sr High School in May of 1998. Mike enlisted in the United States Navy and attended Bootcamp from July 1998-Oct1998. After bootcamp, Mike then was stationed aboard the USS Camden(AOE-2) from Dec 1998-March 2003. While on board the USS Camden, Mike met the love of his life, Andrea. After leaving the Camden, Mike was stationed at NRD Denver, NRS Pueblo, CO (March 2003-Oct 2006. While in Pueblo, Mike and Andrea welcomed their daughter, Makayla to the world. Makayla was Mike's world. In Nov 2006, Mike and Andrea transferred to San Diego, CA. He then was stationed aboard the USS Denver(LPD-9) (Nov 2006 - July 2008. Mike and Andrea were married on March 27th, 2007. Mike then went onto the USS Junea(LPD-10) July 2008-Sept 2008. On Mike’s birthday, Sept. 5th, 2008, Mike and Andrea welcomed their 2nd daughter, Aubry to the world. Mike and Andrea had completed their family. Oct 2008 -Oct 2011, Mike was stationed at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Five. Nov 2011- Nov 2015 Mike then went to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Three. Dec 2015-Dec 2016, Mike took an unaccompanied tour on the USS Land in Guam. After returning from Guam, Mike went back to Imperial Beach with MESG-1 Training and Evaluations Unit from Jan 2017 - Jan 2020. Mike then went on to his final command, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Three. Mike then retired as a BMCS in July 2024. Mike started a contractor job with Anchor Innovations until his final day. Mike lived a very successful military life. Mike is survived by his wife Andrea of 17yrs, daughters Makayla and Aubry. His mother Natalie Grubelnik(his late father, Frank) Sister, Dawna(Jeremy) niece Shayla(Bobby) nephews Daniel and Jeremy. Mother and Father in law Nadine and Victor Lazos. Brother-in-law Adrian, nieces and nephews Adrian, Mia, Sofia, Andres and Cynthia. Grandma Lupe and Grandpa Harry. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was loved and respected by many friends and family, he will definitely be missed tremendously. Our love will not end here!
