Rebecca Aparicio's Obituary
Rebecca Sanchez Aparicio, age 94, passed away peacefully February 22, 2023 in San Diego, California.
Rebecca was born May 8, 1928, in Weir, Texas to Cristobal and Jertrudes Aparicio. Her parents brought her up in the Christian faith and taught her great love for God and family. Teaching her children to love God was Rebecca’s greatest achievement.
She is survived by her daughter Rosa and son-in-law, Manuel Flores and her son, Albert and daughter-in-law, Martha Ochoa, daughters-in-law Nancy and Yolanda Padilla, 18 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 67 great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great granddaughter, and her brother Danny and sister-in-law, Martha Aparicio. She was preceded in death by her sons', Paul and Ruben Padilla.
With a heart led by service to others, Rebecca supported her family as a housecleaner and caretaker in Phoenix prior to moving to San Diego. She was a pillar of her church, Templo Bethania Assembly of God for over 40 years.
As the matriarch of her family, Rebecca will be remembered for her open heart, open home, and endless love. She had the gift of hospitality and loved to sit with a cup of cafecito, discussing her faith with others. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and was always up for an adventure.
Now that she has met her reward, her children and family will continue to rise up and call her blessed. Although many women have done well, she excelled them all and shall be praised.
