Lion Lowell Batterton
Lion Richard Lowell Batterton joined the Chula Vista Host Lions CLUB August 1, 1968, putting in over 54 years of dedication to all that lions stand for. He held every office in the club more than once and was a mentor to many members over the years. He was involved in many projects throughout his time in lions; one favorite was working with the kids in kid care helping taking fingerprints or taking their picture to give to parents for safety reasons. Others were working bingo at the Lions center, working and driving the blind for holiday events and dinners. Collected used eyeglasses, and help testing for those that needed them, and collected needy items to help the Collingwood senior center patients for the holiday gifts. For over 30 years I was grateful to call Lowell my friend. We worked hand in hand with most of the projects in the club and when someone from our club or even other clubs needed help, we would be there for them. Lowell liked to surf the internet and send lots of new things the fund to me, plus jokes, and pictures threw Email, but when sending reports on word or excel to the club members, they always had different applications so no one could open them. He used Packard bell pc and spent more time on phone with tec trying to figure problems running it, we joked about it all the time. I'm so glad we got to spend some time these past few months still talking about things going on with the club and other events, and always had positive outlook on getting back on feet and to go home. You may be gone from site my friend but never be forgotten
