Ruby Earl Timms' Obituary
Ruby Earl Timms, 98, cherished mom, grandmother, wife and sister, passed away on July 5th, 2025. Born on December 19th, 1926, in Ashland, TX (now known as Diana), Ruby was the oldest of eight children.
Ruby came to California and settled in San Diego so long ago, she liked to say, “it was before the bridge (Coronado) was built”. She worked as an Aircraft Metal Worker on North Island for many years where she met a freckle faced boy named Vester. She used to say that she would run from him but somehow the Lord had a different plan, as she shared a wonderful 53 years of marriage to him and together, they created a loving home for their only child. She was a faithful Christian, actively involved in her long-time church – First Presbyterian Church, San Diego - where she and Vester nurtured friendships with their Clippers fellowship group – volunteering together, traveling and supporting one another through life’s celebrations and trials. In her heyday, she was an amazing cook, loved entertaining and adored her garden where she tenderly cared for the most beautiful roses and bountiful fruit trees.
She is preceded in death by her husband Vester, sisters Evelyn and Marie, brothers Floyd, Marion, James and Watson. She is survived by her daughter Tanya (husband Bill), grandchildren Gabriella, Silas and Catalina and her sister Doris.
Ruby will be remembered for her incredible strength, her unwavering faith, her sense of style and her love for her friends and family.
