Sharon Lee Johnson's Obituary
Sharon Lee Griffin was born October 13, 1944, in San Diego, California, the oldest of five children to Jesse and Evanezer Griffin. She was raised in a family of singers and instrument players. She joined the choir and played the flute at San Diego High School (graduated in 1963). Her family attended 31st Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church in San Diego, sang in the church choir, and was a lifelong member.
Sharon attended UC Berkeley in northern California and studied Child Development. She met her first husband, Eugene Williams, and had two daughters, Tineke and Heidi. During that time, she became a member of the VFW’s Women’s Auxiliary and joined Price’s Lomita Bowl League in National City, California. In the late 1970’s, she became a school bus driver with the San Diego Unified School Districtand retired in 1992 during the time she met her second husband, Jesse Johnson.
Over the years, Sharon enjoyed roller skating and dancing to the music of Motown, Disco, and Funk; contributed to various non-profit agencies; was a breast cancer survivor in 2006; and traveled with a senior group to places in Nevada, Arizona and parts of northern California.
She is survived by Daughters: Tineke Rose Williams-Houser (San Diego, CA) and Heidi Rachelle Williams-Dilley (Simi Valley, CA); Son-in-Law: Ronald Alan Dilley (Simi Valley, CA); Grandchildren: Reina Williams Houser, Jr. (San Diego, CA); Alexander Lawrence Dilley (Simi Valley); Nicholas Johnathan Dilley (Simi Valley, CA); Sister: Carmalynn Floretta Johnson-Goodwin (Vallejo, CA); loving nieces, nephews, many relatives and close friends
