I have been a subscriber to Shawn's youtube channel for what must be over a decade. We shared similar interests and I enjoyed his programming updates, opinionated role-playing game insights, sci-fi film discussions etc - and above all his sense of humour. Shawn was a great friend I had the pleasure to work with him for a few years. We would talk about all sorts of things specially movies he was very passionate about computers, programming, and role paying games. You will be missed shooner "as he like to be called at work" rest in peace friend.
I never knew anything about Shonner until 4 days before he checked out. He responded dearly and harshly to chat comments against "inititiative" in his style of constituting Role Playng Games and not "roll play". The sense for his great work wasn't brought to my attention until I found the memorial tributes on youtube. Words of mine alone can't describe how now that I'm discovering his great work, 1 of the greatest disappointments of my life is failing to discover his work sooner, and really psychoanalyze his bizarre but zealous principles of true "role play". The lingering competitive agitation he incited is off the charts head trip encouraging, clashing, and applauding him dearly. He's smirking a mischievious immortally beyond the grave no doubt.
A truly uniquely awesome individual who was deeply passionate about the things he loved. I can't stress enough just how special this person obviously was. Rest in piece buddy!
Shawn was inspiring to many of us. I will miss his sense of humor, insights, and perspectives. He was generous with him time and surprisingly kind to those of us who knew him. I offer my sincere condolences to his friends and family. He was one of a kind. Thank you for being a friend to me Shawn. God be with you, until we meet again.
Shawn was the original big bad of the ttrpg scene. I watched his youtube vidz every day yo have a good laugh. No one will ever be able to replace him! GODSPEED!
Shawn's passing leaves a big hole in the world, especially the RPG community (though he'd hate me saying that haha!) Though I've only known him for a little over a year, I treasured every time I got to talk to him. He put into words thoughts I had had for years in a way that I haven't seen anyone match. Glib yet philosophical. I'll miss our conversations late at night, or leaving walls of text on his videos to get single sentence responses.
There will never be another SHONNER. Rest in peace.
Shawn meant so much to so many people. He was known around the world and shall never be forgotten!
