Themetrice Braswell Laskey's Obituary
Themetrice Braswell Laskey was born on October 14, 1965 to Thelis R. Braswell and Patricia M. Braswell in San Diego, California. As a child, Themetrice grew up in a home surrounded by love and laughter with her parents, two sisters and her brother. Themetrice grew up in San Diego, California and attended Hardy Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High, and graduated from Will C Crawford High School in June of 1983. After she graduated from high school, she attended Cal State San Bernardino University. At an early age, she developed a love for fashion and doing her sisters hair. Subsequently, when she grew up, she pursued and obtained a Cosmetology license. After working in the hair industry for several years, Themetrice began a career at Cox Communications in 1995, where she met her husband, Stephen Mack Laskey. They fell in love, got engaged and on July 13th, 1999 they eloped and became husband and wife in Barbados. For the past 10 years, Themetrice worked for the Chula Vista Elementary School District as a Supervisor of Outdoor Activities, due to her love of children. Themetrice enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, going to the beach, spending time with her family, nieces and nephews. Themetrice lived her life to the fullest always achieving any goal she set for herself. Themetrice grew up learning from her father, that there are three types of people in the world: Those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, and those that say “What happened”? Themetrice always made things happen! Themetrice is survived by her husband, Stephen Mack Laskey, her parents Thelis Braswell, Patricia Braswell, and her stepmother Alionia Braswell. She is also survived by her sisters, Patrice Braswell, Regina Braswell, Jasmine Braswell and her brothers Thelis R. Braswell II and Rubin Braswell. Additionally, Themetrice is survived by her four nieces Trishana, Savannah, Briel, Paris and her nephew Brandon, and three great nieces, Braniya, Braleah and Penelope as well as a host of other family members and friends. At this time Steve and the family would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation and thank you, to family and friends for your kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.
