Thuak Chanthamart's Obituary
Celebrating 87 years of life!
Born in Boten, a small town in Luang Namtha province, Laos on January 15, 1933. Thuak Chanthamart began his journey through life. Thuak is the second oldest in his family.
He left home in the early 1980’s where he courageously made the decision to take his family to the United States. After an arduous journey, they established their home in San Diego, California. Thuak was preceded in death by his wife Xoum of 67 years and his two eldest children. He is now survived by his 9 children, 29 grandkids, and 13 great grandchildren.
Thuak joined the police academy in his late 20’s. During his time, he was faced with a difficult decision to end his career uprooting his family and relocate several times until settling in San Diego. He did not continue his career in law enforcement but instead heavily engaged himself within the Lao community. Serving many years supporting families in similar situations and contributing to the Lao community making it what it is today. Despite the many challenges, Thuak managed to keep a big smile with a full heart knowing his family and offspring will never have to endure and relive what he went through.
Thuak was a husband, father, and grandfather and great grandfather. He is loved very much by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The stress of the world is now behind you and may you now rest in peace with your beloved wife. Although you will be missed very much by those you left behind, we know that you are now in the heavens watching over us. We will miss you very much and will love you always.
