Vernita Ann Kiddie's Obituary
Vernita Ann Kiddie February 12, 1932 – October 20, 2014Vernita was born in Marblehead, Ohio, to Nicholas and Anna Zura. She was married to Waldo Worthington from 1950 to 1970, they moved to Santee, California in 1959. In 1977 she married her soulmate and best friend Andrew Kiddie.She is survived and deeply missed by her husband Andrew; daughters Daun and Anita Worthington; sons Roger and Rodney Worthington; stepchildren Mark Kiddie, Jennifer Adair, Rebecca Loibl; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.After retirement from the retail industry, she enjoyed gardening and kept family and neighbors supplied with tomatoes and green beans. After her diagnosis of cancer, she began knitting hats for those in need, cancer patients and underprivileged kids. She enjoyed cooking, old family recipes and her own concoctions, all of which were delicious and thoroughly savored. Vernita also enjoyed playing the slot machines, especially when she won. She was a loyal friend and caregiver to many. She will always be remembered for her laughter, her caring ways and her wise-cracking sense of humor. She was a gem among gems. Vernita loved zinnias and sunflowers, and we will always have them blooming in her honor. She loved and was loved tremendously. There are no words for how much we will miss her.
