Wilbur Day's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Wilbur Myron DayBorn on September 6th, 1929 near Canton, Haywood County, North Carolina. He was the 3rd of 3 children.His parents were Arlie Allen Day and Leora Jeanntte Day (Rogers). His siblings are Helen Louise Pithoud (Day) and Russell Allen Day.After high school he entered the Navy at 17 and served for 5 years which brought him to San Diego. He married Eleanor Day (Johnson) on May 7th 1950 and they had 4 children.He worked for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph for over 30 years. Wilbur was liked by everyone and was known to be charming and friendly. He loved to tell a story and enjoyed lengthy conversations.He is survived by his sister, Helen Pithoud and his children Karen McHenry, Edward Day and William Day. Wilbur was 89 at the time of his passing.Services will be July 24th at Greenwood Cemetery in the Salli Ann Chapel at 1pm. Guests are welcome to share stories and memories.
