Hi Tashia, I am Fred and your father and I met while station in Atlanta, GA and also was roommates. Words can not express the love that he had for you, I can remember some of our conversations which he would talk about how much he loved you. Your father was and still is the hardest working and caring person I have ever met. He helped mold countless of lives and careers in and out of the Navy. Your father's leadership and guidance continues to live and burn like a Eternal Fire in the Sailors that he trained. I had the opportunity to visit him twice while he was out in California and each visit was like a we had only been away for a few weeks. We simply left off from the last conversation. I can truly say with honor and respect that Willie J Goggins was not just a friend he was my brother. Fair winds and Following Sea Chief Goggins . Willie is my father, whom I miss more and more as the days transpire. We had tough times, and thousands of miles between us, but I am reminded of him everyday. He believed in me, (Daddy Girl, as he called me from birth) more than anyone else in this world, including my own self at times. I miss him and love him so much and regret letting distance amongst other things drive a wedge between our bond as father and daughter. Tell me more about my Dad if you can. Most of my life he was working, and we didn't spend much time bonding, and growing as a father and child would like to.

Willie was a very dear friend of mine. He always reached out to lend a hand for a friend in need. I met Willie in 2007 as we were co-workers together and we remained friends for all of these years. My only regret is not spending more time with Willie. My deepest condolences to Willie's Family. Sincerely, Robert Harden
